West Wind Vineyard, Ribbon Ridge AVA

The workshop in the field.

Bell Road is where you taste the finished wine. West Wind is where it starts, in the soil, before anything becomes a bottle.

Pinot Noir vines on the slope at West Wind

More field than room.

West Wind faces east, north and south into the Pacific winds it is named for, with five clones of Pinot Noir planted across the slope. Kilig, RAWR and every Phoque wine start here.

There is an Airstream, a pavilion with long tables, a fire pit and paths through the blocks. Come for a glass on the weekend, or walk the vineyard with Piper.

Four ways to spend an afternoon.

Saturday and Sunday, walk in

The Airstream

A tasting at the Airstream with a view of the vines. No booking needed.

Working Vineyard Days

Real work in the rows, narrated by Piper, then lunch at the pavilion with the wines that block makes. Eight to twelve guests.

Music and long tables

Small live music nights and seasonal dinners at the pavilion. Never more than 80 guests.

Each season shows something different.

  • FebruaryDormancy Walk. The vines stripped back for pruning, and a reason to light the fire pit.
  • May and JuneCanopy Walk. How Piper manages light and air in the vine, and why it matters in the glass.
  • July and AugustVéraison Walk. Grapes change color, and you can see which blocks hold heat.
  • SeptemberHarvest Morning. An early pick with the crew, then breakfast and last year’s wine from the same block.
